47 period, let your Manager know; in addition, notify your Manager as soon as possible if you were unable to or prohibited from taking a meal or rest period. Employees working 1-6 hours will not be entitled to any breaks. However, a paid 15 minute break may be approved in advance from a supervising manager. Employees scheduled for a shift that is 6 hours or longer will be entitled to take an optional 30 minute, unpaid meal break, for every 6 hours worked during the scheduled shift. The scheduling of these breaks is at the discretion of the manager on duty to ensure proper staffing levels. If the employee wishes not to take a break or decides to remain on duty/work during a break, the break will be considered paid time. Overtime If you are nonexempt, you may qualify for overtime pay. All overtime must be approved in advance, in writing, by your Manager. At certain times New England Security may require you to work overtime. We will attempt to give as much notice as possible in this instance. However, advance notice may not always be possible. Failure to work overtime when requested or working unauthorized overtime may result in discipline, up to and including discharge. Unless otherwise required or exempted by law, overtime pay of one and one-half times your regular rate of pay is paid for any hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek. Holidays, vacation days, and sick leave days do not count as time worked for computing overtime. Pay Period At New England Security, the standard pay period is bi-weekly for all employees. Pay cycles being on Sunday at midnight and end on Saturday at 11:59pm. If your shift starts on a Saturday and ends on a Sunday, your hours may be split if the the preceding Saturday and proceeding Sunday fall on separate pay cycles. Review your paycheck for accuracy. Reporting Time Pay New England Security provides reporting time pay to nonexempt employees in accordance with applicable law. If you are scheduled to work three or more hours, you will be paid for at least three hours of work each day you report to work on time but are given no work or less than three hours of work. You will be paid your regular rate for the hours worked, plus payment at the minimum wage for applicable reporting time pay, not to exceed three hours.
