36 You will be compensated for holidays in accordance with federal and state law. 7.10 Life Insurance New England Security provides life insurance to all eligible employees after the plan's defined waiting period. You will be required to notify the benefits administrator of your intended beneficiary. Refer to the Summary Plan Description (SPD) for details about the benefit. 7.11 Military Leave (USERRA) New England Security complies with applicable federal and state law regarding military leave and reemployment rights. A military leave of absence will be granted to members of the uniformed services in accordance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA, with amendments) and all applicable state law. You must submit documentation of the need for leave to Human Resources. When returning from military leave of absence, you will be reinstated to your previous position or a similar position, in accordance with state and federal law. You must notify your Manager of your intent to return to employment based on requirements of the law. Inquiries can be made by emailing [email protected] 7.12 Paid Time Off (PTO) VACATION - PTO (PERSONAL TIME OFF) No employees will be eligible for paid or unpaid PTO during the first 60 days of their employment, with the exception of time off that is out of medical necessity or medical emergency. Full time field employees are eligible to accrue paid vacation hours after 6 months of service. This time is calculated by the calendar year and accrues each pay period. Employees who become eligible mid-year will receive time on a prorated basis. After 6 months of employment, eligible employees begin to accrue 2 hours of vacation time each pay period up to a maximum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Full time employees may use accrued paid vacation time after 6 months of employment. Up to 40 hours will carry over to the following calendar year if unused. Eligible employees may receive a vacation payout in lieu of actual time off up to a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year. Upon leaving the company employees are paid for any accrued, but unused time off in accordance with state law. Unless otherwise excused, employees must be present the day before and the day after scheduled vacation time to be eligible for paid time off. You are required to request vacation time at least 2 weeks in advance for a scheduled absence lasting one day or longer. This should be done in writing and turned in to your supervisor. Time off requests will be granted when business needs allow. Only after your supervisor approves your time off in writing will you be officially excused for this time off.
